The Final Round in the Belgian First Division will end this weekend and the second spot in the Belgian Series is still up for grabs. While the team currently in second place, the K. Deurne Spartans, will face leader Hoboken Pioneers in a two-game series, the clubs in third and fourth still hope to pass the Spartans.
And the Port of Antwerp Greys and the Brasschaat Braves have a legitimate shot at the championship series, as they will basically play three games this weekend against each other. Before the regular scheduled game on Saturday they will complete a suspended game from earlier in the Final Round with the score tied at 10-10 after six innings.
With that in mind, a few scenarios are possible. If K. Deurne wins both games against the Pioneers they will clinch a final spot. If they win just one game and the Greys win all three games against the Braves, Port of Antwerp will again advance to the Belgian Series. If the Spartans lose both games, the Greys would need two wins and Brasschaat three to move up. The Greys own the tiebreaker against the Spartans, while K. Deurne has the upper hand over the Braves in a tie scenario.
