FC Barcelona has signed Gil Kim

The 2007 vice champion in the Spanish Honor Division has signed infielder Gil KIM for the 2008 season. KIM is from Pottsville, Pennsylvania. He is a well-travelled baseball player.

He went to Vanderbilt University. Though he only appeared in a few selected games between 2003 and 2005. He signed with the Omron Pioniers, Netherlands in 2006. This is the minor league squad of the Konica Minolta Pioniers from Hoofdorp. In 2007 he got the chance to play for the Beijing Tigers of the China Baseball League. He described his experiences in an interview with the Shangahist website.

In 2008 he is coming back to Europe to play for the FC Barcelona. It is expected that KIM will switch into the outfield and takes over one of the five international player spots on the roster.
