Netherlands – Lithuania 19-0 (4)
The European U15 Championship in Nyköping, Sweden started on Tuesday with a 19-0 shutout of the Netherlands against Lithuania. Angelo Wicklert, Jasper Elfrink and Danu Flohr combined to allow just one walk in four scoreless, no-hit innings to lead the way on the mound. At the plate four players scored three runs apiece. Koen Halderman went 4-for-4 with a triple, a double, three runs scored and five RBI. Romantas Trumpa took the loss.
Czech Republic – Ukraine 16-1 (4)
The Czech Republic crushed the Ukraine 16-1, scoring ten runs in the third inning. Radim Novotny tripled, scored three runs and drove in three. Six players crossed the plate at least three times for the Czech team. Adam Stejskal issued one hit, a run and two walks in 3 1/3 frames. Daniyil Buryachek took the loss.
Russia – Slovakia 16-0 (4)
Danil Moshechkov highlighted Russia’s 16-0 rout over Slovakia with an inside the park two-run home run in the bottom of a seven-run third. He drove in four overall. Pablo Rodriges allowed just three walks in four scoreless and hitless innings. He struck out seven. Filip Hoffmann was charged with the loss.
Germany – Sweden 17-0 (4)
Germany scored 11 runs in the second innings en route to a 17-0 victory over host Sweden. Seven players scored at least twice for the squad of Georg Bull. Victor Voll, Nadir Ljatifi and Philipp Meyer had three RBI apiece. Meyer and Maurice Kerschner kept Sweden to one hit and two walks in four scoreless innings, while striking out seven.
