However their big games in the tournament are still ahead with matchups against league rival T&A San Marino on Saturday evening and host DOOR Neptunus on Sunday afternoon. San Marino crushed the Tenerife Marlins in the morning game on Friday, while Neptunus cruised to a win over the Savigny Lions in the evening.

T&A San Marino improved to 2-1 at the European Cup in Rotterdam, defeating the Tenerife Marlins 13-2 on Friday morning. After taking an early lead, the Titans continued to score throughout the contest and blew it wide open in the end. Tony Granato (4-5, 3 runs, 3 RBI) and Riccardo Suardi (2 RBI) hit homeruns. David Sheldon collected four hits and three RBI, while Riccardo Serrani scored four times. Franklin Tavarez went 3-for-4 with a double and a run for Puerto Cruz. Gregory Palanzo (W 1-0) issued nine hits and two runs in seven innings. Audie Nunez (L 0-1) surrendered eight hits, six runs and four bb in three-plus innings.

Telemarket Rimini continues to march towards the Final Four in Barcelona, picking up the third win in the third game with a 10-0 shutout in seven innings over the Hoboken Pioneers in the afternoon game at the Familie Stadium. Mattia Barbaresi (RIM) got the start and conceded just a first-inning single in four scoreless frames. Tommaso Cherubini (W 1-0) replaced him in the fifth and inherited the win. Dennis van Herck (L 0-1) was charged with four hits, five runs and two bb in just 1 1/3 innings. Daniel Gonzalez led the Pirates offense with four hits, two runs and two RBI. Clinton Balgera drove in three.
Savigny Lions – DOOR Neptunus 1-7

Kevin Heijstek (W 1-0) gave up only five hits and a run in eight strong innings, helping DOOR Neptunus to a 7-1 win over the Savigny Lions. It was the second win in three games for the club from Rotterdam and the third loss for the French vice champion. Even the Australian national team hurler Paul Mildren (L 0-1) couldn’t stop the Dutch power house. He gave up seven hits, seven runs (5 ER) and four bb in nine innings. He struck out nine. Jeroen Sluijter went 2-for-3 with a triple, a double and three RBI.
