KNBSB has published news about the 22nd European Coach Clinic, which like last year will be held in the well located Novotel Brainpark hotel in Rotterdam. Instructors and speakers from abroad will be Tim O’Connol, Ron Polk and Kyle Barbour. National invitees are Robert Eenhoorn and Brian Farley as coaches of the national team in the Netherlands and pitcher Rick van den Hurk, this year playing for Florida Marlins both in Major Leagues and Triple A (Albuquerque Isotopes). More guest speakers may follow: local hero Roger Bernadina, on Wednesday singling and scoring for the Washington Nationals versus Philadelphia Phillies, was signed when playing for hotel neighboring Sparta/Feyenoord and now listed for DOOR Neptunus, looks fit for his first invitation.
Registering is possible thru website www.europeancoachclinic.nl. Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 December are considered convenient also for foreign coaches. The hotel is at 300 meter from motorway A-16 connecting Rotterdam directly with Antwerp, Lille, Paris and Rouen and with Eindhoven, Cologne, Ruhr Area and Frankfurt. Train passengers can reach Rotterdam by TGV from France directly, from England till Brussels and by ICE from Germany till Utrecht. In Brussels and Utrecht just change to intercity for Rotterdam
By airplane you can reach Rotterdam directly from various countries: Italy (from Roma Fiumicino), Austria (from Innsbruck and Salzburg), Switzerland (from Geneve), Portugal (from Faro), Spain (from Alicante, Malaga, Girona, Las Palmas and Tenerife), France (from Paris, Grenoble, Geneve, Nice and Toulon), Germany (Hamburg and Friedrichshafen) and England (London Heathrow, London City Airport and Manchester). KNBSB will also organize a national coaches day in Veenendaal on Sunday November 23 and Winter Schools for youngsters in baseball and softball. Venues for baseball are Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Nieuwegein, Zoetermeer, Heemstede, Waarle and Breda. For softball the venues are in Amsterdam, Apeldoorn, Zoetermeer and Oisterwijk. Pupils are invited to attend if they are born between 1994 and 2001 for baseball and between 1992 and 1998 for softball. Info: www.knbsb.nl
