Unipol Bologna has won the 2012 European Champions Cup. In the final on Thursday they beat the hosting club Danesi Nettuno 4-3. The winning run was scored in the ninth inning thanks to a walk-off RBI single by Leonardo De Donno. Nettuno had just tied the game in the eighth on a RBI single by William Bergolla. Starting pitchers Jesus Matos and Ricardo Hernandez had allowed three runs apiece in seven respective 4 2/3 innings. According to the official box score 4,500 people were in attendance at Steno Borghese Stadium in Nettuno.

L&D Amsterdam won a slugfest to finish in third place in the European Champions Cup. They edged out the Rouen Huskies 8-7, nearly blowing an 8-2 lead. Rouen rallied for two runs in the sixth and three in the ninth to make it a one-run game. But former minor leaguer Joris Bert struck out with Maxime Lefevre on second base. Roeland Henrique and Percy Isenia combined to go 6-for-10 with two homeruns, four runs scored and three RBI. Lefevre had four hits and three RBI for the Huskies. On the mound Ben Grover issued eight hits, four runs and two base on balls in six innings. Owen Ozanich surrendered eight runs (7 ER) on 15 hits and two walks in 5 2/3 frames.
