Judge Vincenzo La Rocca of the Italian Baseball and Softball Federation (FIBS) has cleared starting pitcher Enorbel Marquez-Ramirez to play for Telemarket Rimini in the Italian Baseball League this year.
Baseball.it published the verdict on its website on Wednesday evening. Danesi Nettuno had claimed that they also had an agreement with the Cuban-born left-hander with a German passport. However La Rocca came to the conclusion that this contract, which states back to April 2009, wasn’t valid for the 2010 season.
With that Marquez-Ramirez was cleared from all eventual wrongdoings and his suspension from March 19 was lifted. He is expected to make his IBL debut for the Pirates on Saturday in one of the two games of the doubleheader against Montepaschi Grosseto.
