The Czech National Team scored twelve runs in the first on their way to a lopsided 22-2 victory against Latvia. Martin Schneider and Michal Ondracek each drove in four. Eduard Mraz scored four times. All nine batters scored at least twice.
Leos Kubat (W 1-0) allowed just one hit in four innings, striking out six. Valerijs Plungis (L 0-1) gave up eight hits, 16 runs (14 ER) and ten walks in three innings.
It was the fourth win for the Czech Republic in the fourth and last preliminary round game. They now can wait, who will be there opponent in the finals on Saturday.
Poland – Belarus 2-4

Belarus needed two runs in the top of the ninth to beat Poland 4-2. They loaded the bases and Andrei Lameika scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch. A perfect executed drag bunt single by Yauheni Karalevich brought in the fourth run. They had tied the game in the fourth through a RBI double and a RBI single by Anatoly Kalachik and Andrei Paplauski. RBI singles by Piotr Mikolajczyk and Piotr Cedzynsky helped to put Poland 2-0 in front.
Aliaksandr Stsefanovich (W 1-0) went the distance, allowing eleven hits, two runs (1 ER) and a walk. He struck out eight and needed 128 pitches to get through the nine frames. Wojciech Raburski (POL) got the start for Poland. He pitched five innings, giving up three hits, two runs and two bb. Wojciech Gierlik (L 0-1) took the loss.
