Poland scored five or six runs in four of the six innings en route to a lopsided 24-1 victory against Latvia. Mariusz Grzanowsky went two-for-four with a triple, two stolen bases, four runs scored and three RBI. Piotr Cedzynsky also drove in three. Rafal Kalinski scored four times.
Cedzynsky also started for Poland on the mound. He allowed just two hits in three scoreless innings, striking out four. Marcin Musialiek (W 1-0) relieved him and picked up the win. Andi Ansons (L 0-1) was charged with twelve hits, 17 runs (10 ER) and six bb in three-plus innings.

The Czech Republic needed a walk off RBI single by Jakub Malik in the bottom of the eleventh to beat Slovenia 3-2. Petr Baroch (3-5, 3 Runs) scored the game winner after reaching through a triple. The Slovenian squad had tied the game in the top of the ninth through a two-out RBI single by Bogdan Arnez to force extra innings.
Boris Bokaj (CZE) allowed two hits, one run and two walks in 4 2/3 innings. Jakub Toufar (W 1-0) picked up a win, striking out three in three one-hit innings. Rok Vadas (L 0-1) went the distance for Slovenia. He gave up three runs (2 ER) on eight hits in 10 1/3 innings.
