ECQ Antwerp: Belgium beats Austria to qualify

2011 Qualifier European Championship No Comments

Belgium is back on the roster for the 2012 European Championship in the Netherlands. On Saturday they defeated Austria 7-1 to sweep the best-of-three final series. They already had won the preliminary round match against the team from the Alps and finished the Qualifier in Antwerp with an undefeated 5-0 record. Dennis Ribbins was named MVP. Poland swept the other two awards. John Dobkowski got the Best Pitcher trophy, Lukasz Nolbrzak Best Batter honors.
