Jorge Balboa combined with Jordi Valles on seven no-hit innings and the FC BARCELONA moved to 2-0 in the European Cup after an easy 10-0 victory against KARLOVAC. Balboa allowed just four walks in the game, striking out eight.
After three scoreless periods to start the contest, the offense came through in the fourth and stopped scoring till the end. Felix Isasi, Jesus Golindano and Albert Diaz each drove in two. Oscar Roman scored twice.
Jeff Calderone took the loss, allowing four hits, three runs and three walks in five-plus innings.

NEPTUNUS started the game on fire; scoring eight runs in the first on their way to a lopsided 14-0 win against the TEMPLIERS. Especially Jeroen Sluijter was unstoppable at the plate. He led the pack going three-for-three with two homeruns, a walk, two runs scored and four RBI. Jeffry Arends got three RBI. Raily Legito scored twice and drove in two.
Kevin Heijstek got the start for DOOR. He allowed just one hit in three innings, striking out five. Jurjen van Zijl and Berry van Driel also got their work in. Amael Brunet (SEN) was overmatched in his three three-plus innings. He was charged with 13 hits, 13 runs (11 ER) and five base on balls.
Danesi Nettuno – AVG Draci Brno 7-5

After losing the opener to BARCELONA, NETTUNO was already under pressure in the second match and had to fight to defeat DRACI 7-5. BRNO started strong putting four runs on the board in the first three frames, including a homerun by Pavel Budsky. But DANESI answered right away, tied the game in the third and took the lead on RBI singles by Ramon Tavarez and Giuseppe Mazzanti in the fourth. Leonardo Mazzanti drove in two. They held on to the slim advantage and stopped a late rally by the Czech in the end.
Mauro Salciccia started for NETTUNO and allowed eight hits and four runs (3 ER) in three innings. Marco Costantini received the win for four one-hit innings of relief. Rodrigo Sandoval took the loss, after giving up seven hits, five runs (4 ER) and three walks in 3 1/3 innings.
Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg – MGPU SYOS 42 14-4

Home team BUCHBINDER LEGIONAERE used 20 hits to plate 14 runs against MGPU and put their first victory of the tournament into the books. They scored in six of the eight innings and won by score of 14-4.
Simon Kudernatsch was five-for-six with four runs scored and two RBI. He tripled twice and missed the cycle by a homerun. Philipp Howard had four hits and scored three times. Alex Lauterbach drove in four. Markus Gienger and Christoph Zirzlmeier each had three hits and two RBI. Sergey Vorotilin had three RBI for SYOS.
Martin Almstetter pitched six three-hit innings for the win. He struck out six. Dmitry Kondrashov gave up six hits, three runs and two walks in two innings and got the loss.
