Kranjski Lisjaki had to forfeit the three games since Wednesday due to a lack of players on the roster.
Buffaloes Blagoevgrad – Espoo Expos 1-0
Alexandar Blagoev (W 2-0) gave up just six hits and two walks in 7 2/3 scoreless innings to lead the Buffaloes Blagoevgrad to a 1-0 win over the Espoo Expos. Ivan Angelov closed out the shutout, pitching out of a bases loaded situation with two outs in the eighth. Petar Petrov drove in the lone run of the game with a RBI double in the third. Timothy Harikkala (L 0-2) struck out seven in eight strong innings, but didn’t receive any run support. He allowed just one run on five hits.
Olimpija Karlovac – SUPERFUND Wanderers Vienna 4-6
After both teams had picked four wins each in the first four days of the European Cup Qualifier in Karlovac the preliminary round match between Olimpija Karlovac and the SUPERFUND Wanderers Vienna on Friday already counted as game of the best-of-three final series. Vienna scored two runs in each of the last frames en route to a 6-4 win. A two-run single by Clemens Cichocki in the top of the ninth turned out to be the decisive hit of the evening. Karlovac had tied the contest 4-4 in the bottom of the eighth, when Evan Miles drove in two with a single and Slobodan Gales scored on an error on the same play. Christian Tomsich (W 2-0) conceded four runs on ten hits in nine innings for the win. Dennis Kresnik was responsible for the winning runs, pitching in relief of Marin Vukmirovic, who had allowed four hits, three runs and five bb in seven-plus innings. He struck out seven.
