The Rouen Huskies had a perfect start into the European Cup Playoff. On Friday they defeated Olimpija Karlovac in both games and can secure their spot in the 2011 European Cups on Sunday against the Solingen Alligators. On Saturday, Karlovac and Solingen will face each other. In game one on Friday afternoon the Huskies needed four runs in the bottom of the eighth to prevail 8-4 in a close game, which saw Olimpija leading 4-1 midway through the fourth.
Aaron Hornostaj went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs scored and a RBI. Keino Perez (W 1-0) scored twice, drove in the game-winner during the decisive rally and picked up the win after three solid innings of relief. Nikola Sertic collected four hits for Karlovac. Giovanni Ouin started for Rouen and allowed ten hits, three runs (1 ER) and a walk in six innings. Aleksandar Vuckovic (L 0-1) surrendered twelve hits, eight runs and a bb in eight innings, taking the loss.

Game two featured not much drama after Rouen scored a combined twelve runs in the fourth and fifth on its way to an easy 15-1 win in seven frames. David Gauthier, Joris Bert and Luc Piquet collected three hits apiece and were responsible for five runs and eight RBI. Anthony Piquet began for the Huskies and conceded just an unearned run on three hits in four innings. Joris Bert (W 1-0) replaced him in the fifth and closed it out for the win. Mario Zdelar (L 0-1) gave up 14 hits, 14 runs (8 ER) and three bb in five innings.
