em-logo-2016Germany rebounded from an ugly 0-12 loss to Italy with a 14-2 blowout against Belgium on Friday morning at the European Championship in Hoofddorp. Germany improved to 2-2 in the Winners Round Robin, while Belgium dropped to 0-4. Germany scored ten runs in the first three frames to decide things early.

Germany altered the lineup, bringing in Maurice Wilhelm and Kevin Kotowski for Ludwig Glaser and Shawn Larry. Also Eric Brenk moved to third base and the leadoff spot. He responded with five RBI. Christopher Howard and Wilhelm hit home runs and combined for four RBI. Nine players scored overall, five two times. Thomas De Wolf scored and drove in a run for Belgium.

On the mound Jan-Niclas Stoecklin and Sascha Koch shared the workload, allowing one run on two hits each. Steve De Saedeleer got charged with the loss, issuing four hits, five runs (4 ER) and two base on balls in two innings.
