After France had lost in the morning to Spain, Belgium already was qualified for the final round to reach the top six at the European Championship for the first time since 1999. However they still blew by the winless Greece by a score of 18-1 in five innings. After a five-run first they scored 11 runs in the second to turn things towards 15-run rule early.
Thomas De Wolf, Hans Heyrman and Rob Lewis combined for nine RBI. Heyrman also scored three times. Ten different players from Belgium crossed the plate for a run. On the mound Yannik Gontier, Kyran Weemals, Jack Vandroogenbroeck and Gregg Mareels cruised through the innings with ease. Alexandros Gounaris got charged with the loss.
