Dutch Softball Team scores 35 Runs in DH on Hawaii
The offense of the Netherlands Women Softball Team accomplished their most impressive performance on their American trip. They swept the doubleheader last Sunday against the Chaminade University Honolulu, scoring 35 runs on 35 hits. They now have won eight of their nine games.

The Dutch defeated the Silversworlds 9-1 in game one. They scored in four of the five innings. Marloes FELLINGER (3-3) and Sandra GOUVERNEUR hit homeruns.
Starter Anouk MELS retired the first eleven batters in a row and settled for a one-hitter.

The second part of the doubleheader was even more lopsided. They put runs on the board in every period, using 23 hits and nine errors to produce 26 runs.
Saskia KOSTERINK slugged two homeruns during the nine-run outburst in the third. She was also one of six women, who had three hits each. Petra VAN HEIJST drove in four.
Rebecca SOUMERU struck out nine in a three-hit complete game shutout.
After two off-days on Monday and Tuesday they are facing Point Loma on Wednesday. The Malihini Kipa Aloha tournament, in which the Netherlands squad participates, starts on Thursday.
