Centrals – Tex Town Tigers 2-1, 1-15 (5)
Defending champion TIGERS and the CENTRALS settled for a split in their doubleheader in the second week of Hoofdklasse Softball. In game one Amy Harre allowed just one unearned run on three hits and a walk in seven innings to lead the CENTRALS to a 2-1 win. She struck out seven. Maaike van Aarle drove in both runs with a single in the third. In the second match TEX TOWN scored six runs apiece in the fourth and fifth frame in a 15-1 romp. Britt Vonk and Petra van Heijst each scored three times. Lindsey Meadows hit a two-run homerun.
Sparks Haarlem – Gryphons 5-4, 6-8
HAARLEM won game one 5-4 thanks to a walk-off RBI single by Debby Connor in the bottom of the seventh. The GRYPHONS had tied the contest in the top of the same inning. Jolanda Kroesen and Kim Kluijskens hit homeruns for SPARKS. In the second match the GRYPHONS overcame a 3-6-deficit after three innings and won the game 8-6 through to two runs in the seventh. Claudia Kranendonk went two-for-four with four RBI. Monique White had three hits and two RBI in four at bats. Chantal Versluis and Connor hit homeruns for HAARLEM.
Euro Stars – Iber Lengua Terrasvogels 2-5, 1-2
TERRASVOGELS won both games against the EURO STARS. In the first part of the doubleheader Christina Rolla had three hits in four at bats. Solange Starrenburg drove in two. Linda Hoenderdos scored twice. Aimee Murch picked up her second win of the season. In the second game TERRASVOGELS scored the game winner in the top of the seventh. Starrenburg scored one herself and drove in the second. Nathalie Gosewehr also crossed the plate.
Robur ’58 – Twins 0-7 (6), 0-8 (5)
The TWINS won both ends of the twin bill against ROBUR, outscoring them 15-0, while allowing just six hits combined. Michelle Haen scored three times in game one. Evelien Vonk got two RBI. Andee Lindgreen struck out ten in six four-hit innings for the win. She also picked up the win in the second match, going five innings and allowing two hits and one walk, striking out four. Sarah Vandemeiren and Charlotte Haen each drove in two. Michelle Haen scored twice. The TWINS put seven of the eight runs on the board in the third.
