On Thursday evening two games of the Dutch Hoofdklasse semifinal round robin were played. The Hoofddorp Pioniers stunned L&D Amsterdam 8-3. Amsterdam had a 3-0 lead after three frames. But Hoofddorp tied the game in the fourth and then continued to score in the last three innings to seal the away win. Paul Brands collected three hits including a triple and scored three times. Chris Pfau picked up the win, Rob Cordemans the loss.
Curacao Neptunus meanwhile prevailed 7-2 over HCAW. Benjamin Dille cleared the bases with a triple in a four-run third inning, which gave Rotterdam an early advantage. Diegomar Markwell did the rest, allowing just two runs on six hits and four walks in six innings for the win. Jim Ploeger got charged with the loss.
