Bad Homburg Hornets
The promoted Bad Homburg Hornets bring back outfielder Dominic Maric, who comes from the Haar Disciples. The 28-year-old already played for the Hornets from 2007 to 2009. He also was a member of the Mainz Athletics. In 2010 he batted .245 (OBP .344/SLG .283) with two doubles, nine runs and five RBI in 21 games in the southern division of the Baseball-Bundesliga. It was his first full season at the top level in German Baseball.
Mainz Athletics
The Mainz Athletics have signed the 17-year-old right-handed pitcher Niklas Böttger. He is mainly going to play for the Junior team and already took the field for the A’s during a tournament in Apeldoorn, Netherlands last summer. He is coming from the Hünstetten Storm. Mainz also announced a press conference for Monday afternoon to announce changes in the coaching staff, probably revealing the successor for Cae Santos, who has moved back to the US.
