The Dornbirn Indians, which got relegated from the Austrian Baseball League following the 2009 season, have signed a former minor leaguer. The 25-year-old Canadian Devery Van De Keere joins the club for the upcoming season in the second division in Austria. After attending Phoenix College and the University of Louisiana the corner infielder/outfielder was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the 48th round of the 2007 amateur draft. Van De Keere batted .282 (OBP .365/SLG .421) in 131 games through two seasons for Idaho Falls of the Pioneer League (Rookie). He has some European ties as his grandfather is from Belgium.
