According to Baseball.it a local weekly magazine in Italy is going to report on Saturday that Ruggero Bagialemani resigned as manager of the Italian Baseball League club DANESI NETTUNO. He decided to take this step after a meeting with his team at the end of the 2008 season.
NETTUNO , always one of the favored clubs in the IBL, has lost the past two Italian finals. In 2007 they lost in game seven against MONTEPASCHI GROSSETO. This year T&A SAN MARINO defeated them in the decisive seventh match of the Italian Series. They also lost in the finals of the Coppa Italia against FORTITUDO BOLOGNA.
In the European Cup competitions the Bagialemani-led club was more successful, taking second place in the European Cup in Regensburg this season and winning the trophy at the first ever European Cup Final Four in Barcelona in September.
DANESI doesn’t have a successor yet and it is not known, what they will do next.
