On May 7th, 2010 the 16-year-old right-handed pitcher Marek Minarik from Lokomotiva Louny signed a professional contract with the Major League organization Philadelphia Phillies. The last step before his signature was Minarik’s appearance at the MLB European Academy Tryout in Prague. Afterwards he got offers from four MLB clubs until deciding to sign with the World Series Champion from 2008.
