20-year-old catcher Daniel Vavrusa of SaBaT Prague signed a professional Minor League contract with the New York Yankees. Vavrusa is currently playing on a loan contract for Kotlarka Praha in the 2011 season. He already had a place in a Junior Colleague in Arizona for the upcoming year, but July 21st changed his mind. Now he is going to the Dominican Republic to join Yankees affiliate there. Vavrusa‘s past experience is rich, as he spent two seasons in a High School in the USA as well as he attended various baseball camps in the USA. Vavrusa was selected by the Czech National Team this year, when new head coach Andy Berglund saw his talent.
