Traditional Czech Mountain Clinic took part in Ostruzna at the last weekend in January. It was already 14. volume with the participation of more than 140 persons. As in past years, awards for coach of the year, rockie coach of the year, umpire of the year and rookie umpire of the year were given to chosen persons.
Coach of the year, Rockie coach of the year
16 Czech coaches were nominated by baseball coaches and public to be awarded. Best coach was chosen by CBA Coaching commission and former winners of these categories.
Pavel Chadim became Coach of the year (for the second time in his career). He was nominated for advance to Little League World Serie with South Bohemia region, his constant work with youth teams, national champion title for Draci Brno with all youth categories in 2014 and increasing the awarness about Czech baseball.
Jan Altrichter was awarded Rockie of the year. He got nomination for advance to Junior League World Serie with South Bohemia Region and for national title for Draci Brno in U21 category.
Umpire of the year
21 umpires were evaluated by teams’ managers from Extraligue and National league and by CBA Chairman of Sports commission. According to the evaluation Tomas Adamec, David Kulhanek and Frantisek Pribyl were top 3 umpires in 2013. Most points were given to Frantisek Pribyl, who was awarded as Umpire of the year (for the second time in a row).
Rockie umpire of the year
Nominations to this category were sent by umpires, public and all baseball friends. Winner was chosen by CBA Umpire commision. Marek Vicar was awarded as Rockie umpire of the year.
