Curt Smith joins Alex Maestri at Lincoln Saltdogs

Dutch national teamer Curt Smith, who recently got released by the St. Louis Cardinals organization, has found a new team according to Honkbalsite.com. He joins Italian reliever Alex Maestri at the independent Lincoln Saltdogs, which are playing in the American Association. Maestri was released by the Chicago Cubs last week. Selected by the Cards in the 39th round of the 2008 Amateur Draft, the 24-year-old Smith batted .301/.336/.457 in 260 minor league games between Rookie and Double A ball from 2008 to 2010.
