Curacao Neptunus Rotterdam clinched first place of the first part of the regular season in the Dutch Hoofdklasse with a 6-1 win over L&D Amsterdam on Tuesday evening. Originally the game was scheduled for late May, however a bench clearing brawl led to the suspension of the contest in the fourth inning and the KNBSB decided to replay the entire game. Afterwards a pair of postponements due to rain pushed the date eventually to June 28.
Kevin Kelly pitched five scoreless innings, allowing three hits and a walk to pick up the win. Steven van Groningen, Berry van Driel and Bayron Cornelisse closed it out. Dwayne Kemp and Stijn van der Meer scored twice. Cristian Diaz drove in two. Dennis Burgersdijk surrendered eight hits, three runs (2 ER) and three walks in 4 2/3 innings to take the loss.
