The THERWIL FLYERS from the NLA in Switzerland have signed the Australian pitcher/outfielder Chris Blackbee. He is from Perth and played for the BRUSSELS KANGAROOS the past two years.

Blackbee batted .200 with five homeruns, twelve runs scored and 16 RBI in 2007, after hitting .489 with twelve homeruns a year before at the second division level in Belgium. He may had disappointed at the plate, but impressed on the mound. He posted a 6-2 record with a team-best ERA of 1.59 and 74 strikeouts (25 walks) in 79 innings pitched.

He threw three scoreless innings in his debut for the FLYERS a week ago in an exhibition against the German Bundesliga club NEUENBURG ATOMICS. They are open the new Swiss season on April 19th against the WIL DEVILS.
