The 25-year-old American infielder Chris Beck is returning to the Solingen Alligators. After not finding a team during the independent league tryouts he is expected to arrive in Germany this Wednesday and should be eligible to play next weekend against the Untouchables Paderborn. He is replacing Luis Gil at shortstop, who couldn’t impress the coaches during his four-week tryout.
Beck already played for Solingen in 2008 and 2009, getting named best batter in the northern division of the Baseball-Bundesliga in each year. In 2010 he transferred to the Heidenheim Heidekoepfe, where he helped the team to vice championships in the Baseball-Bundesliga and the European Champions Cup. Overall Beck batted .457/.552/.686 with four homeruns, eleven triples, 30 doubles, 115 runs scored and 81 RBI in 70 games in German baseball.
