CB Sant Boi, which will represent Spain as the second team in the European Cup, is making a few changes for the 2010 season. Francisco Despaigne returns from CB Viladecans to take over as manager of the second-place finisher in the Division de Honor. He already worked with Sant Boi in the past. Also new will be center fielder Daniel Martinez, who is coming from reigning champion Tenerife Marlins. He batted .342 (OBP .453/SLG .624) with eight homeruns, 36 runs scored and 30 RBI this past season.
On the other hand some players will not come back. Outfielder and starting pitcher Jose Estebin Cruz is going to play in Colombia next year. He had a 9-7 record with an ERA of 2.51 in 17 starts. He struck out 102 batters in 125 2/3 innings (96 hits, 57 walks). He also batted .294 (OBP .406/SLG .357) with 21 runs scored and 17 RBI in 36 games. Milko Jaramillo (.264/.353/.382) and Rafael Rivas (.336/.441/.418) aren’t expected to return for another season with Sant Boi.
