Cervignano Udine clinched the last spot at the Italian Winter League Finals in Bologna next weekend. They upset unbeaten Ponzano 3-2 in the final of the Trofeo Cariparo in Rovigo. Both won their semi-finals with 3-0 shutouts. Castelfranco Veneto finished third, beating Godo in the bronze medal game by a score of 7-4.
Cervignano will join host Athletics Bologna, title defender San Martino Junior, Junior Grosseto, BC Cairese, Praissola, BSC Arezzo and Tipografia Parma in field for the Italian Winter League Championship Tournament on March 9.
