CEB announces Locations for European Cup Qualifiers



The technical commission of the Confederation of European Baseball (CEB) announced the four locations for the 2011 European Cup Qualifiers on Monday. Attnang-Puchheim (Austria), Heidenheim (Germany), Athens (Greece) and Montpellier (France) will host a tournament each from May 30th to June 4th, 2011. The four groups will consist of six teams apiece. The tournaments will be played in the usual format with a preliminary round and a best-of-three final. The winners will qualify for the European Cup Playoff in September, trying to secure an A-Pool spot for their federations in the 2012 European Cup. Federations have until December 31st to submit their participation in the Qualifiers. Groups will be established by the technical commission at the beginning of next year.

European Cup Qualifiers (May 30 to June 4):

  • Athens, Greece
  • Attnang-Puchheim, Austria
  • Heidenheim, Germany
  • Montpellier, France
