CBLE’s staff has decided to reschedule the 2015 season by cutting the London Cavaliers team from the program and to play a 5-team league instead. The main reason for the need to drop 1 team is that the European regular season leagues play a week longer than last year and a lot of players are not allowed to join CBLE before their summer break starts. This situation prevents a lot of European players from taking part in CBLE this summer.
Our staff concluded unanimous that the quality of the teams and the “Old World” experience for the players need to have the biggest priority. Since a Division with 2 teams would make no sence, the West Division and East Division format will be dropped and the league will travel with all 5 teams to Prague, Sant Boi Barcelona, La Rochelle, Amsterdam and CBLE’s hometown Oosterhout.
We’re very sorry that we had to decide to cut London and Vienna from our schedule since these cities are more than exciting, but it was impossible to fit 7 locations in our 3-week schedule. CBLE’s decision to not visit Vienna, forces the Vienna Emperors team to join the 2015 summer without playing in their hometown. We’re confident that London and Vienna will be back on our schedule in 2016 and that CBLE’s 5-year anniversary can be celebrated with the launch of a second division.
Players and staff who were on the London Cavaliers roster will be transfered to the Sant Boi Falcons of Barcelona team. Some current Falcons players will be transfered to the Bombers, Dragons or Emperors rosters. The adjusted team rosters will be published within a few days.
