BWCF Haarlem: Puerto Rico secures 2nd Place with Blowout against Nicaragua

After scoring the first three runs with the help of three of the four errors by Nicaragua, Puerto Rico blew things wide open with an eight-run rally in the sixth and secured second place in Pool F of the Baseball World Cup with the 16-0 victory. They improved to 6-1 and are tied with the Netherlands and Cuba, going into the third round of the tournament. Venezuela is the fourth squad from this group to advance.
Miguel Negron led the offense by going three-for-four with four RBI. Ruben Gotay and Luis Matos combined to score seven of the 16 runs. Alexander Woodson picked up the win with six scoreless innings, allowing just four hits. Julio Raudez issued two unearned runs on three hits and a walk in three innings to take the loss.
