Collegiate Team USA returns to Haarlem Baseball Week in 2012
According to a report by Honkbalsite.com the collegiate Team USA will return to the Haarlemse Honkbalweek in 2012, joining the Netherlands and a team from Japan as confirmed participants in the six-team lineup. Team USA will be composed by the 22 best college players, which do not qualify yet for the amateur draft in Major League Baseball. The United States won the Haarlem Baseball Week in 1982, 2000, 2002 and 2008. In 2010 a selection of the National Junior College Athletics Association participated as replacement for the collegiate Team USA, finishing in fourth place. The international baseball tournament will be held from July 13 to 22, 2012 at Pim Mulier Stadium in Haarlem, Netherlands.
