Catania Warriors add Rolexis Molina and confirm Manager, Coaching Staff

The Catania Warriors Paternò have signed the Cuban outfielder/third baseman Rolexis Molina Guerrero for the upcoming season according to a report by Baseball.it. The 31-year-old played twelve years in the Serie Nacional in Cuba before coming to Sicily and getting married. During the season 2008/2009 he batted .315 (OBP .352/SLG .461) with a second-best 33 doubles for Isla de la Juventud. In his career he was batting over .300 with a slugging percentage over .420. In August 2002 he played for Cuba at the World University Championships in Messina, beating Team USA 6-0 in the finals.

The Warriors, which won the Serie A2 championship in 2009 and therefore qualified for the Italian Baseball League, also confirmed their coaching staff for the new season this week. Benedetto Falcone, who led the team to a 28-8 record last year, is returning as manager. Assistant coaches Alexander Ramos (infield) and Rene Rojas (fitness, hitting) are coming back as well. The lone new member of the staff so far is pitching coach José Manuel Pedrosa. He succeeds Sergio Ramírez who stays with the club as youth team coach.
