Carlos Duran hits for cycle as Nettuno sweeps Parma

FORTITUDO celebrated an 11-0 shutout on Saturday afternoon against the RANGERS. They used a five-run first to decide the outcome early. Even a rain-delay in the second could not stop BOLOGNA. Joseph Mazzuca drove in three runs. Four players scored twice.

Cody Cillo (1.1 IP, didn’t came back after the rain-delay), Riccardo Paoletti and Chris George combined for the two-hitter. Matteo Bertoldi allowed three hits, five runs (3 ER) and six base on balls in six innings for the loss.

BOLOGNA completed the sweep against REDIPUGLIA with a 10-4 victory. They scored five runs in the first three frames to take a 5-1 lead. The RANGERS cut the deficit to a run in the following, but FORTITUDO added insurance runs in the end to build up the advantage again.

Richard Austin and Joseph Mazzuca (3 RBI) hit homeruns. Giovanni Pantaleoni and Lino Connell each scored three times. Manuel Gasparri reached base in all of his four plate appearances. Massimiliano Sartori drove in two for the RANGERS.

Fabio Betto received the win after six solid innings. Andrea Cossar was charged with four runs (3 ER) on six hits in two-plus innings.

SAN MARINO overcame a 0-4 deficit and avoided the sweep against RIMINI. The guest squad took the lead twice, but T&A answered with big innings. David Sheldon and Riccardo Suardi combined for five RBI. Martin Vazquez, Max DiBiase and Adolfo Matamoros each scored two runs.

Manny Alexander hit a homerun for TELEMARKET and drove in two. Juan Melo was three-for-four.

Matteo Tonellato allowed seven hits, five runs and two bb in 5 1/3 innings for SAN MARINO. Sandy Patrone got the nod for RIMINI and gave up five hits, four runs and three walks in three-plus innings. Luca Martignoni received the win. Roberto Cabalisti took the loss.

After the 15-inning thriller on Friday, GROSSETO didn’t mess around on Saturday afternoon and crushed GODO 13-5. Andrea Sgnaolin had four hits, three runs and three RBI. Lorenzo Avagnina, Antony Caracciolo and Andrea De Santis each drove in two. Jairo Ramos walked three times and scored after every free pass.

Yovany D’Amico gave up four hits, three runs and three walks in four-plus innings. Luca Panerati replaced him in the fifth and earned the win. Michael Nisco was responsible for five hits, six runs (4 ER) and six bb in four innings.

GROSSETO swept the series with GODO, winning the third game 7-6. Lorenzo Avagnina drove in the eventual winning run in the top of the seventh. DE ANGELIS rallied for a run in the bottom of the ninth on a two-out RBI double by Mike Lockwood. But Sanchez grounded out to short to end the game.

Andrea Santis drove in two for MONTEPASCHI. Kelly Ramos and Antony Caracciolo each had three hits. Paolo Tanesini got three RBI for GODO. Francesco Fuzzi was three-for-three.

Emiliano Ginanneschi received the win after 4 1/3 solid innings of relief. Lino Luciani was charged with twelve hits, six runs and five walks to take the loss.

NETTUNO scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 4-2 lead and added three insurance runs in the seventh. Carlos Duran hit for the cycle, going four-to-five with two runs scored and three RBI. He started the game with a single, followed it up with a two-run triple in the fourth, a solo shot in the seventh and completed the milestone with a double in the eighth.

Victor Arias allowed five hits, three runs (2 ER) and two walks in five innings for the win. Michael Jared Natale gave up nine hits, six runs (3 ER) and three bb in 6 2/3 innings, while striking out six.

Frank Menechino and Giuseppe Mazzanti each had three hits and two RBI to lead NETTUNO to the third win in the third game against CARIPARMA. Igor Schiavetti scored twice. Michele Gerali was three-for-four for PARMA.

Carlos Richetti struck out seven in six two-hit innings, while walking three. Flippo Mori took the loss, allowing seven hits, six runs and five bb in 4 1/3 innings.
