CARIPARMA, which ranked fifth in the 2008 Italian Baseball League season, signed infielder Johnny Carvajal. He is coming from the relegated RANGERS REDIPUGLIA, where he was the best player on the roster.
He batted .329 (OBP .392/SLG .582) with nine homeruns, 27 runs scored and 22 RBIs in 42 games. Carvajal was second in the league behind BOLOGNA’s Richard Austin in homeruns, total bases and slugging percentage.
The Venezuelan also has played for GROSSETO and GODO since his Italian debut in 2004 and led the Spanish Division de Honor with a .449 batting average in 2007, when he was with SAN INAZIO BILBAO.
