Already on Monday, Jose Alvarez from the CARIBES allowed no hits, no walks and no runs in seven innings against the ORKAS. The game was called after the seventh due to rain and both teams had to settle for the scoreless tie. Alvarez only faced two batters over the minimum, who had reached on an error and a hit by pitch. He struck out five.
The pitching of the ALB also didn’t disappoint. Jesus Perez, Oscar Blanco, Fidel Velasquez and Steven van Groningen might had a few control problems with six base on balls in the shortened game, but combined to gave up just two hits in 6 1/3 innings.
