The ORKAS couldn’t stop their losing streak at the start of the second half in the Liga Paralela. The CARDINALS scored five runs in the seventh and three in the eighth inning to defeat the ALB 8-1. They are now waiting for a victory since November 13th.
The ORKAS took a 1-0 lead in the top of the sixth, when Bryon Bell drove in Zair Koeiman with a RBI single. However ST. LOUIS came back one frame later. Cesar Valera drove in two for the Major League affiliate. Wilson Perez scored twice. Roberto Espinosa had three hits.
Gerson Manzanillo and Emilio Linarez each had two hits for the European club. Sytse Visbsen went one for three, starting at first base. Gabriel Montero had a forgettable day with four strikeouts in four at bats.
Carlos Farias (L 1-2) got the start for the ORKAS. He had the game under control for the first six frames, but lost his rhythm in the seventh to take the loss. He conceded five runs (2 ER) on eight hits in 6 1/3 innings. He struck out four and walked none. Steven van Groningen relieved him and got the last two outs of the period.
