Canada stays undefeated as they celebrated a 10-0 shutout against South Africa in their second game of the Final Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Taiwan.
After two scoreless innings, leading off the contest, the Canadian offense produced nine runs in the next three. Chris ROBINSON ended the game with a solo-homerun in the seventh due to the ten-run-rule. He was 4-for-4 with a triple shy of the cycle and three RBI. Mike SAUNDERS, Matt ROGELSTAD and Adam STERN had sacrifice flies. Emmanuel GARCIA (2 RBI) and Stubby CLAPP added RBI-singles.
Brett GRAY pitched flawlessly to receive the win. He is hindered by an injured shoulder but threw four scoreless innings to start the game, giving up just three hits and a walk, while striking out three. Alexandre PERIRARD and Aaron WIDEMAN completed the match.
Mathew DANCER was solid in the beginning, but took the loss anyway. He was charged with four hits, two runs and three base on balls in 3.1 innings pitched.
