Canada stays undefeated in Perth
The Canadian Word Cup of Baseball team won also the second game against the Perth Heat as part of an exhibition series. They scored six runs in the first inning on their way to an easy 12-4 victory.
Right fielder Jamie ROMAK had four hits, three runs and five RBI in five at-bats. He hit a home run, a double and two singles. Designated hitter Mike SAUNDERS scored four runs after one hit and three walks. Canada had eight hits and twelve base on balls overall.
Starter Phillippe AUMONT, the round one draft pick of the Seattle Mariners in 2007, had massive control problems. He recorded just one out in the first, allowing one hit, three walks and a run, before leaving the mound. There is no word of an injury yet. Scott RICHARDS relieved him. He gave up only three hits and two bb in 5 2/3 impressive innings. He struck out eight. Reliever Jonathan LOCKWOOD was hit hard and faced 13 batters in the last two innings.
Canada will play two more games against Perth, before leaving for Taipei.
