Canada scored eight runs in the bottom of the seventh to beat Olympic champion South Korea 9-1 in Sundbyberg, Sweden on Thursday. Tim Smith highlighted the rally with three-run homerun. South Korea had tied the game in the top of the seventh with a RBI groundout by Hee-Keun Lee. The maple leafs led 1-0 since the second. Jimmy Henderson struck out four in 1 1/3 innings of relief to pick up the win. Kyung-Eun Noh (L 0-1) surrendered seven hits, four runs (2 ER) and two bb in 6 2/3 innings for the loss.
