The Netherlands shut out Puerto Rico 5-0 at the 2011 IBAF Baseball World Cup on Thursday at Rod Carew Stadium in Panama City. Tom Stuifbergen (W, 1-0) allowed just five hits and a walk in seven scoreless innings to lead the way from the mound. Sidney de Jong and Bryan Engelhardt hit homeruns in the first and sixth to provide the necessary run support. The Dutch team improved to 4-0 at the BWC with the win and will face defending champion Team USA in a key matchup for first place in Group 1.
