Hyon Taek Oh (W, 2-0) struck out 14 batters in 7 2/3 five-hit innings to lead South Korea to a 4-0 shutout over Italy. Jae Hoon Choi did the damage on offense, hitting a solo homerun and driving in two with a single. Chris Cooper (L, 1-1) did good too, giving up one run on seven hits in five innings, striking out seven. Luca Panerati, Justin Cicatello and Yovani D’Amico followed him on the mound. Tony Granato had two hits and reached three times for the Squadra Azzurri.
