The HERTS FALCONS (10-6) have won their last four games at Grovehill Ballpark, their home field, and this Sunday they will be a good bet to make it six straight, with the visit of the struggling CROYDON PIRATES (0-14). The LONDON METS (8-4) and RICHMOND FLAMES (9-5) – both tied with the FALCONS for top spot in the National Baseball League (NBL) – square off at the newly levelled and returfed Connare Field. The BRACKNELL BLAZERS (7-5), who currently sit a game back from the three joint leaders, have a week off.
If the FALCONS do sweep the PIRATES, it will mean that they can finish no worse than .500 in their debut season in the NBL, although they will of course be hoping to do even better than that. A sweep will also mean that the FALCONS would take the division lead outright, should the METS and FLAMES split their double-header.
