The 37-year-old catcher Stefano Landuzzi has decided to call it a career. The captain of the recent winner of the European Champions Cup in Barcelona UGF Fortitudo Bologna is hanging up his cleats and will most likely join a position in the front office of Fortitudo according to the report by Baseball.it.
Making his Serie A debut in 1991 Landuzzi, with the exception of one season with Casalecchio in 1993, spent his whole career with Bologna winning national championships in 2003, 2005 and 2009. He also played for the Italian national team and participated in the 2000 Olympics. He concluded his career by batting .223 (OBP .351/SLG .252) in 40 games (38 starts) this year.
