Bern Cardinals, Templiers Senart battle for Spot in 2010 European Cup

This weekend not only the Baseball World Cup ends with the championship game in Nettuno, but also the European Cup Playoff Series takes place. In Mortemart-Paris the Swiss Bern Cardinals hope to beat the French Templiers Senart in a best-of-three series with the winner clinching the vacant spot in the A-Pool European Cup next year for their federation.

Originally six teams would have had the chance to play for two spots. But after the withdrawal by the Mannheim Tornados (GER), MGPU (RUS) and KNTU (UKR), the Tenerife Marlins (ESP) secured one of the two Spanish EC spots by default.
