At the European Cup Playoff in Antwerp, Belgium the Sunday doubleheader between the BERN CARDINALS (SUI) and the ROYAL GREYS (BEL) will decide, which country gets the last spot in the 2009 edition of the European Cup.
The CARDINALS had a perfect start into the tournament on Friday, winning both games against KAUNAS LITUANICA (LTU). On Saturday KAUNAS upset the sixth-ranked team at the European Cup in Grosseto with a 2-0 shutout in game one. The ROYAL GREYS came back in the second one, picking up a lopsided 11-1 win.
The Belgian champion of 2007 now is under pressure to win both matches on Sunday versus the CARDINALS or Switzerland clinches a spot in the A-pool of the European Cup.
