(3-0) Hoboken Pioneers – Port of Antwerp Greys 4-3
It was a long drought for the HOBOKEN PIONEERS. For the first time since 1970 they won the Belgian Baseball Championship last weekend by completing the sweep against defending title holder PORT OF ANTWERP GREYS. They had won the championship in the last four years in a row.
The third match of the Belgian Series was as thrilling as the first two. Dennis De Quint hit a solo homerun over the left field fence in the bottom of the eighth to seal the 4-3 victory for HOBOKEN. The GREYS had erased a 1-3 deficit in the top of the fifth to even the score. TJ Antonacci used 131 pitches to go the distance, picking up the complete game win against his former club.
