Baseball America ranks Liddi, Halman in Top 10 of Mariners Prospects

On Friday Baseball America released the Top Ten prospects list for the Seattle Mariners organization. Two of the players were born in Europe. After being named the best player in the California League, Italian third baseman Alex Liddi moves up into the number-four spot behind Dustin Ackley, Michael Saunders and Adam Moore.

Dutch outfielder Gregory Halman stayed in the Top Ten, but dropped from first to eighth in comparison to 2009. However he is still recognized by Baseball America’s Matt Eddy as best power hitter and best athlete in the Mariners organization.

Besides Liddi and Halman, the lone other European-born player in Baseball America’s Top Ten lists this year is German outfielder Max Kepler-Rozycki, who was ranked tenth in the Minnesota Twins farm system.
